Symantec Supports Microsoft

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq:
SYMC) today announced the availability of Symantec Web Security 5.0
for Microsoft(r) Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004,
offering high-performance virus and spyware protection and URL
filtering for Web (HTTP) traffic served through an ISA Server.

"Today's companies require solutions that combine key protection
methodologies at multiple points of entry," said Francis deSouza, vice
president of Enterprise Messaging Management solutions at Symantec.
"Collaboration tools include not only enterprise e-mail and instant
messaging, but also Web mail, blogs, and wikis. Symantec Web Security
5.0 for Microsoft ISA 2004 protects Web-based collaboration through
virus and spyware scanning and helps companies enforce Web-usage
policy through URL filtering, reducing costs and helping to leverage
the existing ISA Server infrastructure."

Part of the Symantec Enterprise Messaging Management product family,
Symantec Web Security 5.0 for Microsoft(r) ISA Server
2004 detects and blocks spyware and adware and other non-viral
security risks at the earliest point of entry while preventing and
removing costly Web-borne viral threats.
Ideally suited for the needs of small to medium-sized businesses, it
provides effective and accurate URL filtering by leveraging Symantec's
extensive URL-filtering database and patented Dynamic Document
Review(tm) technology, which can accurately block Web pages and sites
not currently categorized. URL filtering allows organizations to
limit Internet usage to business-related activities, which helps
promote productivity and reduce exposure to legal liability by
blocking inappropriate Web content and preserves valuable bandwidth.
