State Department Picks FilesX

NEWTON, Mass. -- FilesX, a leading provider of continuous, lights-out” data protection and recovery solutions for remote offices, today announced that it has been selected to supply the U.S. Department of State with its Xpress Restore® data protection and recovery solution for mission-critical servers in U.S. Embassies and other State Department facilities throughout the world.

Xpress Restore enables organizations to continuously backup data, such as email, files and database applications, and instantly restores their availability on the same server or on a new server if system access is lost or interrupted for any reason. “Disk-based continuous data protection (CDP) products that are independent of hardware are the future of recovery for large and small enterprises,” said Ray Paquet, Managing Vice President, Gartner. “This is especially true for remote/branch offices where ease of use, automation and flexible recovery requirements are most critical.”

The Department Of State contract was awarded after an extensive two-year testing and evaluation process. The Department of State has already begun installing the FilesX solution at major embassies through an Enterprise License Agreement. When fully deployed, Xpress Restore software will be protecting data on thousands of servers in more than 250 countries.
