BOSTON -- Onaro, Inc., the leader in storage service management, announced today a major expansion into the SME (small medium
enterprise) market with the availability of SANscreen SME Edition, software that provides real-time, independent feedback that all the devices in the SAN are working together to meet the services required by an application.
SANscreen SME Edition is the result of several quarters of experience working with and servicing the needs of SME customers. In a separate news release, the company also announced today the formation of a strategic alliance with QLogic Corporation whereby QLogic will deliver a SAN assessment program built around SANscreen SME Edition.
Onaro defines the SME market as corporations with switch port counts under 500. Maintaining SANs with limited personnel is a key operational challenge for these customers. SANscreen SME enables organizations to gain the operational efficiencies of the core SANscreen Foundation product, but on a smaller scale. These operational efficiencies can be extensive as adding incremental headcount to meet storage growth can sometimes represent a 100% expansion of a SME's storage team. SANscreen SME has been shown to provide an immediate ROI for these companies.
"SANscreen has shown some tremendous benefits to our SME customers over the past few quarters helping them align storage infrastructure with application requirements," said Bryan Semple, vice president of marketing, Onaro, Inc.
"With SANscreen SME Edition, small and medium enterprises can take full advantage of SANscreen Foundation's ability to provide immediate measurable value but on a scale more closely suited to their datacenter size. With QLogic as a strategic partner, Onaro has the winning combination of a great product with an industry leading partner to aggressively bring SANscreen SME Edition to market."
