MARKHAM, ON, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Redline Communications Inc., a leading provider of standards-based WiMAX and broadband wireless infrastructure products, today unveiled the RedMAX 4C SC-100e Mobile WiMAX base station, the latest addition to its complete roster of fixed, nomadic and mobile WiMAX products. The RedMAX 4C SC-100e, which incorporates IEEE 802.16e-2005 technology, will be demonstrated at the 4G World event in Chicago, IL from September 15 to 17, 2009.

The new RedMAX 4C SC-100e offers carriers, energy companies including utility and oil and gas organizations, and other network operators in key vertical markets, a cost-effective and high capacity solution to establish a wireless network using the most advanced WiMAX technology available today. Based upon the PHY (Physical Layer) and MAC (Medium Access Control Layer) that Redline developed for its award winning RedMAX 4C products, the SC-100e is small, lightweight and easy-to install and offers a flexible design that supports up to three high-power radios within a single 1U base station unit, making it one of the smallest, most cost-effective macro base station Mobile WiMAX solutions available today. The SC-100e also enables a smooth transition to Redline's chassis-based RedMAX 4C SC-1000 base station as operators grow their networks.

"Redline has applied its best-in-class WiMAX technologies and expertise to develop the most cost effective and high performance 802.16e WiMAX product on the market today," said Kevin Suitor, Vice President, Corporate Marketing, Redline Communications Inc. "As the developer of WiMAX product offerings that have been deployed by hundreds of network operators around the world, Redline has drawn on its unique and in-depth experience in a number of industry sectors to deliver a Mobile WiMAX product that adaptable to fit the specific needs of each of the markets we serve."

The RedMAX 4C SC-100e includes an integrated GPS and multi-sector support, which simplifies network planning and supports more subscribers with less infrastructure. Unlike any other Mobile WiMAX base station on the market today, the SC-100e has the capacity to cover an entire 360 degree macro coverage area using just one base station unit and supports distributed coverage for both indoor and outdoor deployments, The SC-100e is designed to support up to three remote radios using one, two or three frequencies, enabling more efficient spectrum usage and a rapid return on investment. The SC-100e also offers a cost-effective upgrade path to a larger capacity system incorporating a chassis base station as the operator grows and increases its subscriber density without requiring additional tower climbs reducing total cost of ownership. The RedMAX 4C SC-100e is currently being trialed by Redline customers in key vertical markets in preparation for the commercial launch in 2010.

"We are pleased that Redline will debut its latest Mobile WiMAX technology at 4G World," said Berge Ayvazian, Conference Co-Chair and Senior Advisor to Yankee Group. "As one of the first companies to establish a strong roster of WiMAX customers worldwide, Redline is sure to attract the attention of the hundreds of operators from around the world that we will be welcoming in Chicago this year."The SC-100e is well-suited for carrier installations, enabling easy integration with the operators existing network infrastructure and management systems. The base station includes an optical interface and external AC/DC converter, for ease of installation. It's high capacity and flexible design allows carriers to reach more subscribers with fewer base stations, supporting a more profitable solution than with other broadband access solutions.

Redline's RedMAX 4C solutions are designed to enable remote meter reading as well as outage monitoring and will ultimately help operationalize a number of additional applications, including power distribution automation, power station/security monitoring, smart home applications, and remote work dispatch for field staff. These applications can help utility companies to increase and improve customer service and reduce operational and maintenance costs.

The RedMAX 4C SC-100e is the latest addition to Redline's family of WiMAX products. Operating in the 1.8 GHz, 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz spectrum bands, and supporting a high concentration of subscribers, it enables operators to realize a rapid return on their WiMAX investment. The RedMAX 4C family also includes a modular, standardized (micro)TCA (micro Telecommunications Computing Architecture) chassis base station that is small, lightweight and easy to deploy, as well as a selection of customer premise equipment.
