McAfee Ships Two Wireless Network Security Products

Security software vendor McAfee, Inc. said Tuesday that it has started shipping two separate suites with built-in security capabilities for home wireless networks.

The company said that both its new McAfee Internet Security Suite -- Wireless Network Edition and McAfee Wireless Home Network Security suite are now available either via download or from retailers. Both suites provide tools for securing home networks, such as the ability to automatically generate strong encryption keys with automatic rotation of those keys, according to the company.

As a standalone product, the wireless LAN security is called Wireless Home Network Security. Click here for a review of that product.

In addition to the wireless network security capabilities, the suites also provide a variety of protection for PCs, such as anti-virus software and firewalls. McAfee Internet Security Suite -- Wireless Edition 2006 costs $149 for three users. McAfee Wireless Home Security Suite costs $99.99.
