WALTHAM, Mass. -- Strengthening its commitment to partners and the reseller channel, Watchfire®, the worldwide market-leading provider of web vulnerability assessment software and services, today introduced a new partner program to provide increased levels of support and tailored packages for a premier list of technology partners, systems integrators, resellers and security consultants.

Watchfire's expanded reseller partner program features two levels of membership: Authorized and Certified. Membership is determined by a partner's level of web application security expertise and desired level of engagement. Customized programs are designed to complement individual business goals and reward client successes, and can include AppScan® certification training, lead generation and expanded co-marketing programs.

Reinforcing the company's commitment to helping ensure secure and compliant websites, Watchfire has also created a specialized program designed for security consultants-including penetration testers or those conducting vulnerability assessments on behalf of their clients. This unique program provides security consultants with tailored licensing, technical, marketing and sales resources including:

  • Customized pricing and per engagement licensing: Watchfire has introduced new penetration testing licensing terms as well as flexible per engagement pricing options designed to meet the unique needs of security consultants. This new licensing model expands on an already impressive set of pen tester features in the AppScan product.

  • Customized Education Programs: Watchfire has developed an online education series specifically tailored for penetration testers or partners conducting vulnerability assessments for their clients. Hosted by Ory Segal, one of the industry's leading security experts, this training provides the most up-to-date techniques, advanced functionality and best practices advice on how security consultants can get the most out of automated vulnerability assessment tools for their clients' web application security audits.

  • Penetration Tester Forum: Watchfire has created a forum to help facilitate a direct channel of communication. Participating members will benefit from direct access to key Watchfire representatives from research & development and Watchfire's research team. Members will also benefit from shared knowledge delivered across a network of participating industry peers and thought leaders, as well as a competitive advantage drawn from early exposure to new Watchfire product releases.

  • Dedicated Resources: Watchfire provides dedicated sales, marketing and technical resources to assist this growing market segment.

"Watchfire's focus on the pen tester market and reseller partners recognizes the significant business impact of our partners and is an opportunity to provide new levels of support to help ensure their success, while also broadening the active community of partners with similar values and goals," said David Grant, vice president of marketing, Watchfire. FAIRFAX, Va. -- Watchfire®, the worldwide market- leading provider of web vulnerability assessment software and services, and Spectrum Systems, Inc., a leading provider of systems and application lifecycle solutions to the U.S. Federal Government, today announced the signing of a strategic partnership and reseller agreement. Spectrum Systems will rely on AppScan® to perform Web application vulnerability assessments as part of Spectrum services. Spectrum Systems will also resell Watchfire's AppScan and has added the product to their General Services Administration/Federal Supply Service (GSA/FSS) Schedule (GS-35F-5192G).

An increased number of online security breaches have resulted in more rigid control regulations and industry guidelines including FISMA and OMB reporting requirements. Government websites have also grown in size and complexity, and security issues can be spread across millions of web pages. Manually checking for problems can be costly and inefficient. Security is not only a technical challenge--it can be a matter of national security. To address this, agencies must continually monitor, measure and establish a method of auditing and reporting on potential security risk and levels of compliance. By using AppScan, Spectrum Systems can now incorporate the market-leading web application vulnerability scanning solution into its services and solutions to satisfy this critical government need.

"Federal departments and agencies today are mandated to measure and control risk and vulnerabilities on their web operations to ensure compliance with a number of regulations and requirements," said Ronald Segal, president of Spectrum Systems. "Watchfire's AppScan is invaluable in its ability to not only catch security defects that could present a vulnerability before going live with new Web applications, but it also audits live Websites for new vulnerabilities and compliance reporting. Combining Watchfire's application scanning solution with Spectrum's services and application development and testing products delivers, an unparalleled capability to government agencies that are dealing with large-scale software projects."
