Symantec Establishes Council

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) today announced the launch of its Executive Customer Advisory Council, a dynamic group of chief information officers (CIOs) and information technology executives from a variety of market-leading global enterprises.
The Council is a working body of customers established to provide guidance to Symantec's leadership and development teams regarding the company's strategic plans and enterprise services and solutions.

The Council was formed to help meet the complex needs of Symantec's current customer base and to provide analysis and ongoing validation of the plans that are essential to achieving Symantec's business goals. Council members analyze the impacts of new technologies and services and assist in identifying early opportunities for Symantec. They will also help guide the direction of existing solutions by providing feedback that reflects the evolution of the security and availability markets and the changing realities of the customers' business environments.

In addition, the Council provides an opportunity to create meaningful and strategic partnerships between Symantec and its large enterprise customers.
Council members are encouraged to pose challenging questions to the Symantec team and to expect candid, objective dialogue attuning the company's vision toward the needs and challenges customers face.
