HERNDON, Va. -- IceWEB, Inc., www.iceWEB.com (OTCBB:IWEB), and Blue Coat Systems Inc., (NASDAQ:BCSI), announced that the US Social Security Administration (SSA) awarded IceWEB a contract valued at $600,000 for appliances manufactured by Blue Coat Systems. Through its IceWEB Solutions Group (SG) and their partnership with Blue Coat the Company will provide the SSA with multiple networking appliances that deliver content filtering solutions and WAN optimization.

The SSA contract award also includes options for additional quantities in the second year of the contract year to purchase additional appliances valued at approximately $700,000.

SSA selected the IceWEB solution because it offers tightly integrated appliances that combine functionalities such as Internet security, URL filtering, reporting, application acceleration and content control – into a single device. With just one management interface the system architecture will protect the agency’s 85,000+ employees and its information systems from the Internet’s potential harms through a network-wide policy creation and enforcement tool that restricts access to various Websites.

John R. Signorello, CEO and Chairman of IceWEB Inc., said of the contract award, “This solution is designed to protect all Social Security Administration employees from visiting potentially harmful websites. The elegance of the Blue Coat appliance lies in the fact that they not only increase employee productivity and reduce liability, but that in doing so, they offer significant increases to the organizations Web performance.”
