What trip to the land of nod would be complete without an obligatory grab shot from the strip. This lovely view is of the Grand Canal shipyard at the Venetian. Why does this look so pristine and calm? The winds in Vegas were 40 mph and above on Monday, blowing most of the tourists away from the outdoor spaces. The results were surprisingly peaceful -- a city of glitter sans people. View larger image.
