Move over, XBox. Officials from The Guinness Book of World Records recently confirmed the highest number of players ever recorded on a single game server at the DreamHack Winter 2004 festival. DreamHack, in Jnkping, Sweden, is the world's largest LAN party and game festival. The event hosted 1,160 video game players simultaneously on a Unisys ES7000/540 server.

The Unisys ES7000/540 server was equipped with 32 Intel Xeon 2.2-GHz processors and 32-GB internal memory running Microsoft's Windows Datacenter. What did the gamers play? "CounterStrike," a popular online, team-based game simulating counter-terrorist warfare.

Despite its broad appeal as a gaming workhorse, the server, weighing in at 1,110 lbs., may be a bit much for Santa's sled this year.
