When you're ready to interrupt your production network to get some diagnostics, a tap should be the last thing you need to worry about--but as anyone who's done it can tell you, without the right tap, you can't diagnose anything.

It used to take days to get a tap from a local distributor, but now you can buy taps online directly from Network Instruments, rather than going through a reseller.

If you're short a cable, they've got cables. Need a media converter, SFP or just the right rackmount? Check out www.networktaps.com. And the taps can be shipped overnight for free. Unfortunately, the new service works only for Network Instruments taps, which don't include the one-to-many and many-to-one taps available from NetOptics, the other 900-pound tap gorilla.
