Jive Software has released Clearspace 2.0, a new version of its internal collaboration solution for businesses.Clearspace enables employees to conduct internal discussions, collaborate on documents, build blogs, organize projects, and perform other group-related business tasks. The upgrade adds social networking features, such as the ability for members to create their own pages that other employees can view and access to an org-chart-like view of the group activities. The suite allows customization through the use of drag-and-drop modules.

Jive distinguishes Clearspace from Microsoft SharePoint in that the former is focused on the people, while the latter focuses on the files. The company claims over 2,000 customers, including many of the Fortune 500. Clearspace is available as both a hosted and in-house solution. Up to five people can try it for free, and additional seats are $59/year, with enterprise pricing available for larger companies.CNET News, TechCrunch
