Cisco Fires Top Executives In Israel

Unapproved discounting apparently led to executive let gos.

According to published reports in Israel, Cisco has let go of senior members of its management team there, including the acting CEO of Israeli operations, because it provided unapproved discounts to certain customers in violation of corporate pricing policies in the region.

According to the Israeli periodical Ha'aretz and the Jerusalem Post, five executives were let go. An official statement from Cisco said:

"Honesty and integrity are basic values and are important to the global Cisco corporate culture. Any behavior unbecoming of these values is unacceptable and we will handle it appropriately."

The officials reportedly fired include: the acting CEO, the chief sales manager and three senior sales managers.
