Targeted at service providers and large enterprises, AccelOps 2.1 SP (Service Provider) edition is a data center and cloud service monitoring solution that delivers operational intelligence and automation to enable service providers and large enterprises to meet service-level-agreement (SLA) commitments, reduce costs and capitalize on service opportunities. Starting at $60,000 and available as a virtual appliance or SaaS, it consists of the SIEM (Security Information Event Management) SP Module, the Performance Availability Monitoring SP Module (Performance, Availability and Business Service Management), or offers both as an "all-in-one" platform.

New features include a consolidated, multi-tenant console that offers interactive and customizable views aggregated across sites as well as by customer/division. AccelOps' virtual appliance cluster has dynamic clustering allowing appliances to be added on-the-fly, enhancing performance and supporting unlimited online data analysis. The company also enhanced its performance monitoring by analyzing audit logs, process metrics and JDBC-based synthetic transactions with in-depth database monitoring that tracks and alerts Oracle and SQL availability, performance and security issues.

The system support, smart-incident management reduces notification noise using alert consolidation, auto-suppression rules, and instant filtering, allowing administrators to focus on the important events. AccelOps also enhanced the reporting to including new data displays, dashboards and charts that complement an extensive knowledge base of built-in rules and over 900 report templates.

An early adopter, Texas-based Austin Radiological Association gives the new version rave reviews. "We've been really pleased with the product," says Todd Thomas, CIO of the organization that provides outpatient imaging services and a digital imaging application SaaS for their local market. They've been using the product for close to four months and just installed the 2.1 version a couple of weeks ago. Thomas is very impressed with the integration. "The interface, its ability to bring in multiple feeds from different devices in our environment...we can do it all in one dashboard. We couldn't get that before in our legacy network management system."

Trac-Research's Bojan Simic, who covers the enterprise and service-provider markets, is impressed with the product's ability to consolidate tools under one platform, something pure-play network management providers can't handle. "Some customers can have over 100 different tools, and it's difficult to talk to each other and consolidate the data." He says AccelOps can deliver this integration, especially network monitoring and network behavior analysis, through a single platform. Simic says a growing problem is too much infrastructure monitoring information being generated that isn't actionable, and that at the end of the day, this doesn't improve performance. "This single platform approach helps a lot. You can actually get these people to talk to each other, not finger pointing at each other and playing the blame game."
