Bell Microproducts achieves ISO-9001 recertification

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Bell Microproducts Inc.(NASDAQ:BELM), one of the world's largest value-added distributors of storage and computing technology, has been recertified and registered for the ISO-9001:2000 standard, the company announced today. ISO 9001:2000 is recognized worldwide as the comprehensive international standard of quality.The designation signifies Bell Microproducts' adherence to a systematic, world-standard approach to quality management.

The certification applies to the company's corporate, warehouse and integration facilities at its San Jose, Calif. headquarters, and to its warehouse operations in Chicago; Toronto; Edison, New Jersey; Eden Prairie, Minn.; Acton, Mass.; and New Castle, Del.

In the auditor's summary, European Quality Assurance Ltd. noted Bell Microproducts' dedication to process and resource improvement in all operational areas, throughout the six-day certification process. "We were noted for our particularly strong management support for resources in our integration centers, not only in terms of equipment but in human capital as well," commented Chuck Kostalnick, Bell Microproducts' vice president of OEM sales. "Our commitment to quality processes is second to none and we believe we are well-positioned for growth and continued success."
