REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Check PointR Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today advanced its flagship VPN-1 brand of network security solutions by releasing two new product lines focused on Unified Threat Management (UTM) and High Performance security. VPN-1 UTM -- a unified threat management solution that scales for enterprises of all sizes -- and VPN-1 Power -- for customers that need high-performance security to deal with today's performance-sensitive applications -- are designed to provide customers with security that is proactive, manageable, scalable and simple to use.

"Enterprises are struggling to keep security up to date while managing more and more information channeled through the Internet," said Ken Fitzpatrick, chief marketing officer for Check Point Software Technologies. "Our VPN-1 products are ideal for customers who need either the simplicity of an all-in-one solution or the power and performance of a high-end security solution. No matter what our customers needs are, they are able to receive the added benefit of a security solution that is centrally managed whether it is a standalone solution for a branch office or a multi-layer security solution that spans the enterprise." As the Internet continues to be of critical importance to business operations and the rise of threats and frequency of attacks persist, companies are evaluating their security infrastructure and determining that scalable security is a must. The networks that enterprises manage are increasingly complex with higher transmission speeds, more communication protocols, and more users. In addition, the impact on IT operations has forced IT departments to focus on reducing increased risk and higher operating costs while addressing greater performance requirements. With Check Point's VPN-1 UTM product line, customers can realize the benefits of unified security whether they deploy an all-in-one UTM gateway or a distributed, enterprise-wide security infrastructure. Additionally, customers taking advantage of VPN-1 Power can get up to a 400 percent-plus increase in performance versus non-accelerated security.

"Today we face new threats, protocols, and network complexity," said Greg Young, research vice president, Gartner. "Reducing security complexity is a goal. Adding on additional consoles and management overhead are huge hits on total cost of ownership (TCO)."
