FAIRFAX, Va. -- Managed Data Holdings announced today that it has changed its name to Latisys, reflecting a new brand that unifies its strategy, data center locations and service offerings under one company name. As a leading provider of multiple state-of-the-art data centers, Latisys is deliberately placing emphasis on ‘Delivering More_’ to customers. More_Latitude. More_Expertise. More_Storage. More_Performance. More_Security. More_ROI.

“Building on the strong foundation and successful history of our current data center business and growing scale, we’re taking the logical next step in the evolution of our company,” said Peter Stevenson, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Latisys. “We are an emerging national services provider designed to meet customer needs for colocation and IT management solutions. And our strategically located data centers in different geographical regions let us provide cost-effective disaster recovery solutions when coupled with our proven track record in exploiting virtualization technologies to create highly elastic managed hosting solutions.”

The name Latisys (pronounced LAT-eh-sis) comes from a combination of the words “latitude” and “information systems.” Those roots, along with the new brand traits, reflect the flexibility and breadth of services that have taken the company to the next level in data center solutions, managed hosting and managed services. The name speaks to the company’s national reach, with Tier III data centers in Denver (formerly Data393), Chicago (formerly Stargate) and Irvine, CA (formerly InteleNet), as well as the adaptable and customer-focused approach Latisys delivers to meet customers’ increasing and changing IT infrastructure challenges.

“Demands placed on IT organizations and businesses for cost-effective outsourced data center solutions, information storage, security and scalability are significant,” according to Stevenson. “We also believe solving those demands in an efficient and timely manner will be an increasing focus of company executives, managers and owners. Latisys offers scalable infrastructure management solutions that provide customers with exactly what they need, when they need it.”
