LONDON -- Alfresco Software, Inc., the leader in open source enterprise content management (ECM), today announced that Proforma Global, a leading print management and workflow solution provider to the Fortune 1000, has selected Alfresco document management solution to help the company serve and collaborate with its global customers.

Proforma Global is a division of Proforma, a $300 million company with 650 offices worldwide. It provides some 30,000 clients with fully integrated solutions for both print and electronic communications to serve its clients industry-specific graphic communications, commercial printing, promotional and multimedia needs.

Proforma Global began using Alfresco to help one of its customers, which has locations in 40 different countries, collaborate on and update the look and content of product data sheets for its scientists, project managers, graphic managers and marketing personnel throughout the world. Proforma Global is also using Alfresco for four other asset management marketing projects within the same company, which include managing everything from the company’s brand art to different projects for various divisions.

“We knew from the get-go that Alfresco is more robust and less costly than any of the content management alternatives we considered,” said Paul Knipe, vice president of Operations at Proforma Global. “Alfresco is a great tool that we can use for a wide variety of opportunities. Its usefulness is only limited by our imagination. We plan to pitch Alfresco’s content management and collaboration capabilities as a major part of our value add to every single one of our clients going forward.”
