Rackable Systems Names EVP

Rackable Systems announced the addition of Carl Boisvert as executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing

MILPITAS, Calif. -- Rackable Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RACK), a leading provider of servers and storage products for large-scale data centers, today announced the addition of Carl Boisvert as executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. With more than 20 years of leadership within the server market, Boisvert will drive worldwide sales of all Rackable Systems products and services.

Carl has experienced tremendous success in the hardware and software technology industries,” said Tom Barton, president and CEO of Rackable Systems. “His strong leadership, demonstrated record of success in growing top line revenue and gross margin, and innate ability to deliver results will be valuable assets to Rackable Systems as we continue to grow and expand our geographical and vertical reach.”

Boisvert joins Rackable Systems from ClearCube, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer, driving five-fold revenue growth in three years. Prior to joining ClearCube, Carl was senior vice president of sales at Stratus Technologies, a $300 million provider of fault-tolerant servers. At Stratus, he managed a worldwide team that delivered consecutive record quarterly growth and developed new lines of business around fault-tolerant server technology based on Microsoft and Linux.

Before Stratus, Boisvert was President of NetTest, where he grew the company from $60 million to $300 million in three years. He has also held various executive leadership positions managing revenue streams upwards of $1 billion at Cabletron Systems, Amdahl, State Street Bank and IBM. Boisvert received his MBA from the University of Hartford and is a graduate of Central Connecticut University.
