Prior to joining CTP, Gavin spent 12 years at Data General Corporation, serving as director of corporate accounting and reporting, vice president and treasurer, vice president and corporate controller, and then CFO. While at Data General he played a major role in building the financial function to support the company’s rapidly growing storage business and helped reshape its infrastructure to return the company to profitability prior to the sale of the company to EMC. Before Data General, Gavin spent 10 years at Price Waterhouse, holding a variety of increasingly senior positions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Providence College, was previously a member of the board of directors and the audit chairman for Ascential Software, and currently serves on the board of directors and is the audit chairman of VistaPrint Ltd.

“Since the company’s inception in 2001, BladeLogic has been one of the fastest growing software companies in any market,” said Dev Ittycheria, president and CEO, BladeLogic. “BladeLogic’s significant growth is directly correlated to the company’s capacity to recruit senior executives who can rapidly scale the business while delivering outstanding operational performance. John’s contributions to BladeLogic will be invaluable as we take the company to the next level.”
