eSoft Bolsters SpamFilter, Content Filtering

BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- eSoft, Inc., a leading vendor of integrated Internet security and content management solutions, today announced enhancements to its SpamFilter and Content Filter capabilities, available on both InstaGate and ThreatWall network security gateways. These SpamFilter and Content Filter enhancements heighten protection against the latest image, PDF file, and eCard spam techniques.

"Spam volumes continue to rise, with new techniques being regularly introduced by spammers, including PDF attachments, fake e-cards and image techniques," said Robert Peterson, Senior Product Line Manager of eSoft. "In addition, large spam outbreaks use bot-networks to blast messages out in higher volumes. These additions to SpamFilter and Content Filter directly address those issues. Our customers will once again have another layer of protection without having to add resources to the spam problem."

SpamFilter includes an IP reputation filter that identifies spam-bots and other spam servers around the world. Reputation filtering takes advantage of eSoft's DIA (Distributed Intelligence Architecture) to stop spammers and bot computers regardless of spam technique. Hundreds of email characteristics are analyzed and reported back to DIA in real time to identify spam sources and alert eSoft's Threat Prevention Team of new techniques used by spammers.
