REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Decru®, a NetApp (NASDAQ:NTAP) company, today announced a strategic partnership agreement with RSA®, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE:EMC), to offer joint customers enterprise data protection (EDP) solutions. In addition, the two organizations plan to collaborate on the development of common standards for enterprise-wide encryption and key management.

In recent years, enterprise and government customers have come under tremendous regulatory and business pressure to secure sensitive and confidential data. This task has been complicated by the nature of the enterprise infrastructure, which incorporates a wide variety of applications, operating systems, networks, and storage vendors. Despite the clear need for information-centric security, enterprises have been reluctant to create encryption deployments without a unified policy and key management infrastructure. Decru and RSA are teaming up to directly address this customer challenge, and RSA® Key Manager software will be an integral part of the EDP offering to joint customers. RSA Key Manager is a stand-alone key lifecycle management offering that is engineered to enable businesses to control encryption keys effectively by providing centralized, secure and simplified administration for all applications.

Decru DataFort® security appliances automate and simplify storage security for heterogeneous enterprise environments. The Decru platform combines encryption, authentication, access controls, auditing, and policy management to provide enterprise-wide security for data at rest. Decru has made a strong commitment to standards and interoperable solutions, notably with the launch of the Decru OpenKey™ program in June 2006.

“We’re working to accelerate our customers’ business objectives by reducing risk, helping to address federal and state statutory and regulatory initiatives on data protection, and protecting critical consumer, employee and partner information,” said Rick Welch, vice president and general manager, Data Security Business Unit at RSA, The Security Division of EMC. “Enterprises will turn to RSA to leverage our expanded set of enterprise data protection solutions, and our commitment to bring Decru solutions to market will enable us deliver flexibility and choice to better meet their needs.”
