XenSource Signs Symantec OEM
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- XenSource, Inc., the leader of the open source Xen virtualization project, and a provider of enterprise virtualization solutions, today announced that it has signed an OEM agreement with Symantec to embed Veritas Storage Foundation, Symantecs industry-standard storage management software into XenEnterpriseTM, and collaborate on delivering enterprise-class HA/DR and backup technology to XenSource customers.
By unifying the industrys leading storage virtualization software with the industrys leading open source hypervisor, customers can implement a scalable, high-performance virtualization platform that leverages their current storage investments, processes and environments.
The combination of Symantec and XenSource can deliver an integrated server and storage virtualization solution that is fast becoming a requirement for many IT organizations, said John Humphreys, program vice president of IDC's Enterprise Virtualization research.
