Total consolidated revenues for the 3rd quarter were $358 million, up a striking 90% vs 3Q06. Does anyone out there still think virtualization is a passing fad? Running the numbers:

VMware???s 3Q07 GAAP net income was $65M or $0.18 per diluted share compared to $19M or $0.06 per diluted share in 3Q06. GAAP operating income was $66M vs. $28M over the same period last year. These are the figures that come from ???generally accepted accounting principles,??? with all t???s crossed and i???s dotted, following GAAP guidelines.

Taking a broader view at the books (including stuff like acquisition costs, R&D write-offs, etc.), non-GAAP net income was $85M or $0.23 per diluted share. Non-GAAP operating income was $91M, which represented 25% of third-quarter revenues and is an increase of 71% over last year.

Per Diane Green, president and CEO of VMware: "Increased customer-adoption of VMware Infrastructure was a significant driver in growing our revenues 90%..."

Not to mention that little IPO.Not too bad for VMware???s first quarter as a public company.
