The new rapid-recovery appliance uses the new Unitrends Release 4.1 data protection software (see related announcement dated today) for support of up to 40 operating systems now including the Windows Server 2008 family and the Novell OES family of products. Microsoft Hyper-V and Xen virtualization platforms are also supported.

"We are dedicated to keeping our customers' business-critical data and applications available 100 percent of the time, 24x7x365," said Rob Moser, chief operating officer, Immedion. "We accomplish this by maintaining a world-class data center comprised of solutions that have demonstrated superior reliability and performance. The new Recovery-610 is an ideal data protection solution for our customers' environments. The highly reliable Recovery-610's combination of high capacity and value in a small 1U form factor demonstrates exactly the data protection solutions our customers trust us for."

The Recovery-610 is the entry-level rack-mounted system in Unitrends' backup appliance family. It offers an aggressive return on investment and is packaged in a sleek 1U form factor.
