UK SPs Pick Atempto CDP

STOCKLEY PARK, U.K. -- Atempo, the leader in data protection and storage security for trusted information lifecycle management (ILM), today announced news from its UK channel Partner Dacoll Group, which has launched an innovative new Continuous Data Protection service using Atempo’s LiveBackup software.

Dacoll’s “Prime Secure Service” launched in January 2007 guarantees to provide next day replacement of both hardware and data from lost, inaccessible, damaged or corrupted laptops and desktop PCs.

“With laptops now becoming more popular than desktop PC’s, there is an increased risk to data during travel and while working outside of a traditional office environment,” comments Ron MacFarlane, National Sales Manager, Dacoll Group, “The launch of the new service is a response to strong demand from our clients and although desktop PC’s are also protected by the scheme, Laptops are the biggest area of concern for many customers.”

The system uses a LiveBackup software client installed on each protected system to autonomously handle data collection and transmit it in the background to a central server when a user is connected to any data network. Users can self manage simple file restores from the built in software and if a machine is unrecoverable say from a virus attack or if it is lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair – Dacoll will provide a replacement, complete with all data from when the machine last attached to a network, within an agreed SLA.
