HERNDON, Va. -- SWsoft today announced it has joined the HP ProLiant Partner program -- bringing together award-winning SWsoft Virtuozzo server virtualization software and HP ProLiant servers to help optimize customers' IT infrastructures.

The two companies have validated Virtuozzo operating system (OS) virtualization software running on HP ProLiant servers. The solution creates virtual environments that can consolidate several servers into one physical server, using either Linux or Windows, which improves utilization and makes greater use of server resources.

Virtuozzo is available for multiple Linux distributions and Microsoft Windows Server 2003, and operates on HP ProLiant and Integrity platforms based on x86, x86-64 and Itanium processors.

"Collaborating with HP combines our highly-scalable and manageable OS virtualization software with high-performance HP servers to help customers increase utilization rates and improve their return on investment," said Serguei Beloussov, CEO, SWsoft. "Virtuozzo software is ideal for HP systems that range from ProLiant servers for SMBs to HP Integrity SMP systems for mission-critical workloads."

"With SWsoft's Virtuozzo now validated on the HP ProLiant server portfolio, customers have a broader choice of virtualization technology to modify or provision their servers quickly to handle their changing business needs," said Carl DCosta, director, infrastructure solutions, Technology Solutions Group, HP.SWsoft Inc.
