TORONTO -- Storagepipe Solutions, (www.storagepipe.com) today announced Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries (www.mountpleasantcemetery.com) has implemented its online backup and remote storage solution to manage its data protection across the enterprise.

Established in 1826, the Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries operates ten cemeteries in the greater Toronto Area. It is a not-for-profit, non-share capital corporation that is neither owned nor subsidized by any level of government. Catering to all faiths, the corporation is one of Toronto's largest owners and operators of cemeteries, having served the communities in which it operates for more than 180 years.

A core responsibility for the Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries' IT department is protecting data and business critical applications for its headquarters and all remote locations. Because of the sensitivity of the information handled by the company, not only is data integrity key, but client confidentiality is also of paramount importance.

To ensure compliance with its internal policies, the Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries required a solution able to easily back-up data from many locations including its hosting provider. Multiple enterprise applications including Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server and Navision in a server consolidated VMware environment also had to be protected. After implementing Storagepipe's online backup service, a significant amount of the company's critical data is now centrally backed up and recoverable to any of the remote sites.

One of the key benefits of Storagepipe's solution is that it removes responsibility of data backup from the Mount Pleasant Group's IT staff, now able to dedicate themselves to internal projects and those tasks requiring in-house execution and management. In addition, the Mount Pleasant Group no longer needs to be concerned with moving data to offsite storage, but rather relies on Storagepipe's state-of -the-art backup systems and facilities.

"We have provided a cost effective offsite backup which enables us to ensure our data is secure," says Pim Rom-Colthof, Director, IT Services, Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries. "Our approach now makes sense and saves significant time in training and daily management - not to mention, backup and restore processes. Storagepipe supports our multiple sites, our critical applications and provides exceptional support for all our data protection needs."
