SteelEye Announces Hyper-V DR

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. -- SteelEye Technology, Inc., a leading provider of business continuity and disaster recovery solutions for multi-vendor IT infrastructures, announces SteelEye DataKeeper support for the Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V.

The need for virtual server protection is increasing as IT organisations consolidate workloads using virtualisation software. Further magnifying this need is market research firm IDC's recent estimate that the virtualisation market is expected to expand from $1.8 billion in 2007 to $5.3 billion in 2012, a compound annual growth rate in excess of 30 percent. As business-critical applications and data increasingly reside within virtual machines, protection against both planned and unplanned outages is a business imperative. DataKeeper is a highly optimised data replication solution for Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. The product is sold in two versions: DataKeeper delivers data replication services as an extension to Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 while DataKeeper Cluster Edition further extends the capabilities of Windows Server Failover Clustering. Both editions support real-time replication of Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V virtual machines between physical servers across either LAN or WAN connections.
