LONDON -- Sentrum (www.sentrum.com), a specialist in data centre solutions, has today confirmed the acquisition of a new facility in Woking, Surrey. Branded 'Sentrum IV', the 200,000 sq ft of newly developed technical space, and 60,000 sq ft of office and disaster recovery space, is located on a substantial site of approximately 12 acres.

The Sentrum concept was introduced to address the gap in the market for data centre facilities that can meet corporate requirements of less than 50,000 sq ft; which economies of scale dictate are too expensive to warrant a self-build solution.

"The concern at the lack of data centre space in the market overall is an accelerating business issue," said Andy Ruhan, CEO of Sentrum. "This is being driven by organisations looking to outsource the housing of their IT equipment in order to reduce internal IT burdens, which makes the Sentrum solution very compelling."
