WESTMINSTER, Colo. -- Atrato, Inc. ( http://www.Atrato.com), a leading provider of high-volume on-demand storage for the high performance computing, digital entertainment and Web sectors, today announced that Green House Data ( http://www.greenhousedata.com) has selected Atrato's flagship Velocity1000 (V1000) storage system for the company's outsourced data center services. The Atrato V1000 provides a unique solution that is ideal for cloud computing and virtualized environments as well as applications that require high input/output performance. The product features industry leading throughput in a power, cooling and space efficient package.

Green House Data is a 10,000 sq.ft. data center that is powered entirely through renewable wind energy. This high-availability and secure facility is designed to operate at approximately 60% lower energy utilization per square foot than comparable data centers of the same size. This translates directly into cost savings for its customers while providing more computing power within the data center that draws less energy in a given footprint.

"It can be hard to find the right balance between delivering the best technology to our customers and adhering to a higher sense of environmental responsibility," said Shawn Mills, president and founder, Green House Data Center. "Atrato has helped us to reconcile these two objectives. Our commitment to sustainable solutions led us to the Atrato V1000 for its unmatched performance density that saves us significant space, power and cooling costs. It is Atrato's high performance standards and total cost of ownership that has enabled us to launch our cloud computing initiative."
