Freescale Processors Gain Momentum

PARIS -- As the volume of rich digital content continues to expand at work and at home, businesses and consumers need networking solutions to store, share and protect their most valuable information.

To help manufacturers of storage equipment succeed in this environment, Freescale has collaborated with several top software providers to create two new reference designs based on its new MPC8379E and MPC8315E storage processors. Built on Power Architecture technology, the solutions are engineered to speed and simplify product development while addressing application-specific requirements of consumer and small/medium business (SMB) storage equipment markets.

“Freescale’s storage solutions offer outstanding networking and processing performance, along with integrated storage connectivity that scales from 1 to 4 SATA-II hard disk drive interfaces,” said Jeff Timbs, marketing director for Freescale’s Networking System Division. “The MPC8379E and MPC8315E processors are supported by premier storage software providers to enable our customers to rapidly develop secure, high-performance, protected storage devices.”
