SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Data Domain, a
leading provider of Enterprise Protection Storage systems for disk
backup and network-based disaster recovery, today announced that it
has achieved the status of CommVault(R) Strategic Partner. CommVault,
a leading provider of Unified Data Management(R) solutions, extends
Strategic Partnership status to a select group of solution providers
that have demonstrated an investment in time and resources to team
with CommVault's technical, marketing and sales forces to deliver
joint solutions. Data Domain is already a member in CommVault's
PartnerAdvantage(TM) program. As a strategic partner, enterprise
customers will benefit from Data Domain's elevated status since the

align their go-to-market strategies to bring enhanced data protection
offerings to market.
The combination of Data Domain's deduplication-enabled Enterprise
Protection Storage systems and CommVault Galaxy(R) backup and
recovery have already allowed numerous enterprises to enjoy high
performance disk-based backup and disaster recovery solutions that
reduce costs and work more efficiently than tape-based solutions.
"CommVault and Data Domain already have a strong relationship and a
demonstrated track record of success together in the backup space,"
said Beth White, vice president of marketing at Data Domain. "Going
forward, our goal is to further optimize our technologies for data
protection application environments. Together, CommVault and Data
Domain can offer solutions that leverage our respective strengths for

data management. Offering a suite of unified data protection,
replication and storage resource management solutions that are built
on a common set of management services, including secure data
movement, a common management console interface, and shared device
management, CommVault enables customers to meet their data management
needs with a single software solution.
"End users are demanding data protection solutions that reduce the
complexity of managing data in enterprise IT environments, and
interoperability is key to successfully deploying these solutions
today," said Dave West, vice president of marketing and business
