LAS VEGAS -- Bay Microsystems, Inc., the world's fastest growing network processor company and leading provider of high performance Wide Area Virtualization and Extension solutions, today announced that it will demonstrate the full capabilities of Wide Area Virtualization at Interop 2008, April 29-May 1, 2008, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It will exemplify Wide Area Virtualization by showcasing a live example of VMware's High Priority VMotion application running across distant data centers in the Mellanox Alliance Partners area of booth 2307.

"Server and storage virtualization have advanced data center architectures providing consolidated administration, high availability, and resource optimization within a single facility," said Peter Yamasaki, Systems Business Development Director at Bay Microsystems. "However, despite these achievements, data centers typically remain islands of computing and storage resources and these benefits cannot be extended across a multi-site infrastructure. Wide Area Virtualization interconnects these islands, allowing customers to leverage data center resources on a global scale."
