HANOVER, Germany -- ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, is showcasing its FastStream Storage Controller appliance and its new SAS/SATA RAID adapters that enhance IT and digital workflow productivity.

Located in CeBIT Hall 1, Stand C77, Booth B08, ATTO will demonstrate its FastStream Storage Controller running with Apple’s Xserve® RAID storage. This demonstration addresses the need to add RAID protection to critical data without suffering the performance impact associated with more traditional solutions.

Designed as slim 1U 19” external rack that integrates into existing SCSI storage, FastStream adds data protection and storage networking. FastStream provides 480 MB/sec. performance with cutting-edge 4-Gb Fibre Channel SAN connectivity and/or Ultra320 interfaces for easy connectivity to any SCSI or Fibre Channel storage. Designed to enable direct-attached storage to become part of a storage area network, FastStream allows unused storage to be reclaimed and made available to the servers that need it most. The FastStream Storage Controller is JBOD and RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 configurable. Adding RAID to existing storage devices guarantees high storage availability prevents data loss and eliminates failures from individual storage systems. Existing RAID volumes can be expanded, mirrors added or RAID levels changed dynamically while keeping all data intact. The provisioning feature enables optimal use of storage assets and the ability to modify the storage infrastructure with minimal or no disruption to application services. Management is simple with the ATTO ExpressNAV™ integrated management console – an intuitive point-and-click interface allows for remote configuration, management and diagnostics.
