SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- ServerEngines(TM) LLC, a visionary supplier of silicon solutions optimized for enterprise computing, today announced that BladeEngine(TM) and its associated firmware and management software is ready to ship to end users. The BladeEngine solution is based on iSCSI and TCP/IP offload protocol engine technology licensed from Adaptec in March 2005.

ServerEngines' BladeEngine is a single chip, dual port 10 Gb Ethernet controller targeting volume applications requiring 10 Gb wire-speed performance, multi-protocol offload capabilities and advanced I/O virtualization. Since March 2005, ServerEngines engineers have been porting the iSCSI and TCP/IP offload protocol engine technology licensed from Adaptec to the 10 Gb Ethernet BladeEngine platform.

ServerEngines will demonstrate BladeEngine at the Next Generation Data Center Conference (co-located with LinuxWorld) at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA August 7-9, 2007.

The iSCSI market is quickly gaining traction and storage is demanding 10 Gb connectivity," said Sundi Sundaresh, President and CEO of Adaptec. "We are pleased to see that ServerEngines is building its leadership position in this emerging market by integrating proven iSCSI and TCP/IP offload protocol technology that originated at Adaptec into controllers that raise the bar for performance, scalability, stability, and security."
