SAN DIEGO -- Nirvanix, the premier Cloud Storage” platform provider, today announced the addition of Michael V. Wall to its Board of Directors. Wall was a founding member of the management team that started the enormously successful storage business for Intel in the late 1990s and will bring this depth and breadth of experience to aid Nirvanix as it continues to build its Storage Delivery Network worldwide.

Wall spent 15 years at Intel Corporation, most recently as the general manager of the company’s Storage Group. As a leading supplier of storage technology to the computer industry, Wall worked closely with the large, multinational OEMs that manufacture and distribute servers, workstations and storage solutions.

Prior to joining Intel, Wall served as a general manager at Cray Research, where he was responsible for North American operations. He has also held several marketing management positions at IBM Corporation.

“The storage market isn’t known for frequent inflection points but this happens to be one of those rare moments as online storage takes a solid footing in the marketplace. There is no doubt that the Nirvanix Storage Delivery Network approach to the market is a winner,” said Wall. “I look forward to working with my fellow board members and the management team at Nirvanix to ensure that our SDN becomes the de facto storage utility standard.”
