SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP - News):

What: Today Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP - News) renamed what was formally Topio TDPS to NetApp(R) ReplicatorX, which is enterprise-class software for continuous data replication and recovery across a range of locations, platforms, and storage systems. ReplicatorX lets customers continuously replicate block data from any storage system to any other storage system, whether that's EMC, HDS, HP, IBM, or NetApp. NetApp ReplicatorX provides usability enhancements to earlier releases of TDPS. ReplicatorX is backward compatible with earlier releases of TDPS.

Customers use ReplicatorX for disaster recovery in a mixed storage environment, enabling them to rapidly recover an up-to-the-second copy of production data that is consistent across the enterprise at the recovery site. In addition, customers can also choose to use ReplicatorX to replicate data on any storage to a NetApp secondary storage and then use NetApp FlexClone(TM) technology to near-instantaneously create clones of production data without taking up additional storage capacity for development and testing in SAP or Oracle(R) business application environments. Customers can use ReplicatorX to migrate block data across heterogeneous infrastructures as part of a data center consolidation project or when upgrading their storage systems.
