Diligent Certified for Sun Fire

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Diligent Technologies Corporation, the leading provider of enterprise-class de-duplication and data protection solutions, today announced that its ProtecTIER solution has been certified to run on the Sun Fire™ X4500 data server (a.k.a. Thumper). Together, ProtecTIER and the X4500 combine to form a high capacity de-duplication solution that is an ideal fit for mid-sized enterprise environments.

Offering Diligent’s ProtecTIER VTL data de-duplication software with the Sun Fire X4500 will enable mid-sized customers to enjoy all of the benefits of disk-based backup and recovery for a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions. Diligent’s core de-duplication technology, HyperFactor™, effectively increases the usable capacity of the X4500 by a factor of 25x or more. Powered by HyperFactor, the integrated solution provides up to 500 TB of usable capacity, making it the most scalable and economical mid-range VTL solution in the market.
