MILPITAS, Calif. -- ConSentry Networks, a leading provider of secure LAN solutions, announced the appointment of Dan Leary as vice president of marketing. Leary brings to ConSentry more than 15 years of networking experience as a product management and marketing executive. Leary will be responsible for the overall direction, strategy, and marketing of ConSentry's products domestically and internationally.

"The experience Dan brings from leading product management and marketing teams in public and private networking companies will be invaluable to us," said Tom Barsi, ConSentry Networks' president and CEO. "Dan has a proven track record of successfully managing highly visible, industry-leading, award-winning solutions. His ability to build and lead strategic product-marketing campaigns will be instrumental in educating the security and networking community about the value of ConSentry's approach to securing the LAN."

Leary's experience enables him to lead ConSentry's product and marketing strategy. His extensive knowledge of networking as well as product management and marketing will be key in communicating ConSentry's value proposition to customers.

"I'm excited to join ConSentry Networks because the team has both technical leadership and innovation and a proven track record of success in the space," said Leary. "For the first time in 10 years, we're in the midst of a fundamental change in how enterprises build LANs. Built for security rather than simply connectivity, the ConSentry LANShield product line represents a huge market opportunity, based on technology that it wasn't possible to build until now."
