Stratus Technologies has chosen the Emulex FibreSpy Model 850 Embedded Storage Switch for use in its new ftServer V Series family

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) today announced that Stratus Technologies has chosen the Emulex FibreSpy(r) Model 850 Embedded Storage Switch for use in its new ftServer(r) V Series family. The industry-leading FibreSpy embedded switches provide high-performance storage system infrastructure to the Stratus systems, offering customers the ability to deploy reliable storage environments.

Emulex's FibreSpy Embedded Storage Switches are designed to be used as embedded root switches for back-end applications, meeting the needs of storage system providers that want to substantially improve performance and RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) by:

  • Intelligently pre-testing all disk enclosures to ensure working devices;

  • Constantly monitoring data collection for system health and trending;

  • Installing drive enclosures while the system is active; and

  • Offering Controller multi-path connections to drives.
