FREMONT, Calif. -- SMART ModularTechnologies (WWH), Inc. (SMART) (NASDAQ: SMOD), a leadingindependent manufacturer of memory modules, embedded computingsubsystems, and TFT-LCD display products, today announced its newXceedLite product line of serial ATA (SATA) solid state drives (SSD)ideal for networking, telecommunications, and data communicationsapplications as well as tablet PCs.

SMART's XceedLite SATA SSD product line features the industry'sbest-in-class low-power consumption (0.55W read/0.65W write)alternative for rugged, low-cost, data storage applications. Thecost-competitive XceedLite SATA SSD solution is well suited for harddisk drive (HDD) replacement in systems that require high-reliabilitystorage in a low-profile (H-5mm x W-68.9mm x L-100.25mm) package.Offering sustained read performance up to 40MB/sec and sustainedwrite performance of up to 25MB/sec, the XceedLite SATA SSD's accesstime is typically 200ms with power requirements of only 150mA at+5VDC.

Available in densities up to 32GB, the reliable XceedLite SATA SSDsare designed for rugged boot drives in a wide range of communicationsapplications including mobile and embedded computing, medical,automotive, and industrial applications. SMART's XceedLite SATA SSDsfeature enhanced reliability as a result of advanced on-board errordetection as well as correction and comprehensive wear levelingalgorithms that provide consistent operation throughout the productlife cycle.
