LAWRENCE, Mass. -- Seven Ten Storage Software, Inc., the developer of StorFirst EAS, Windows based software for tiered storage management of data, announced that it has extend the functionality of its file system archiving software to support MAID (Massive Array of Idle Disk) technology and the reduced power consumption capabilities of disk drives associated with MAID.

Supporting the eco-friendly spin-up/spin down features within MAID is a natural fit for Seven10 as it continues to lead the technology evolution and education process towards more intelligent and cost effective archive management methodologies. As a result of this new technology offering, corporations of all sizes will realize an immediate cost savings in storage related purchases as static, or persistent data, is moved off high cost primary storage and onto reliable MAID technology managed by the customer installable StorFirst file system.
