FREMONT, Calif. -- Rackable Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:RACK), a leading provider of servers and storage for large-scale data centers, today announced that RightNow Technologies (NASDAQ:RNOW), a provider of on demand Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, has deployed Rackable Systems servers to power its hosted enterprise solutions in the companys Chicago data center. RightNow Technologies selected Rackable Systems’ award-winning DC powered servers to ensure optimal compute power, reliability, energy savings and uptime.

RightNow Technologies provides on demand CRM solutions to approximately 1,800 customers in a host of industries ranging from travel and hospitality, communications, retail, consumer, high tech, state, local, central and federal government, finance and education. The need for a disaster recovery plan and geographic redundancy capabilities drove the successful deployment of more than 100 of Rackable Systems’ highly dense, energy efficient rack-mount servers. By taking advantage of Rackable Systems’ DC power technology, RightNow Technologies’ initial deployment has cut a whopping 25 percent off monthly power costs alone.

“The nature of the service we provide for our customers demands that our very foundation — the hardware we use to run our infrastructure — achieves high reliability and is easy to deploy and maintain,” said Laef Olson, chief information officer at RightNow Technologies. “The Rackable Systems team deployed our systems swiftly and seamlessly. We rolled them in, plugged in the power and network, turned them on, and they were up and running. Receiving the servers fully racked and pre-cabled also eliminated what could have been hundreds of pounds of packaging waste. RightNow is passionate about eco-responsibility, and Rackable Systems has helped us reduce both power consumption and IT waste in our data center.”
