MILPITAS, Calif. -- Promise Technology, Inc., ATA RAID originator and manufacturer of value-driven Serial RAID storage solutions for OEM, enterprise, workstation and desktop applications, today announced immediate availability of its latest generation of iSCSI-to-SATA RAID subsystems. The VTrak M610i, M310i and M210i subsystems provide a complete range of easily installed, block-level, networked RAID storage for the midrange and SMB (small- to medium-business) markets. The product family brings rich iSCSI features including link aggregation and jumbo frame support to optimize bandwidth and large file transfer performance across the network. Promise's M-Class family also offers RAID 6 protection against multiple simultaneous drive failures, setting a new standard for data protection at a cost effective price point. The advanced RAID and IP-SAN features in the M-Class family give administrators the flexibility to solve tough storage problems easily, reliably and cost effectively with minimum disruption to clients.

"Promise's latest generation of M-Class RAID subsystems provide the key features our customers have asked for," said Sam Sirisena, senior vice president sales and marketing and general manager of the Advanced Storage Group at Promise Technology, Inc. "iSCSI and SATA drive technologies are a perfect fit for storage applications like digital content creation, D2D backup or archive staging that require high performance and reliability at an attractive price point," Sirisena continued.

"Users' biggest issue today is controlling staff size and quality. While high data protection and performance are essential, it is ease of installation and overall simplicity that make iSCSI really attractive to users," said Robert Gray, storage analyst, RobertGrayDirect, "Promise's new products are well positioned to meet or exceed user expectations in both function and operation."
