Plasmon names Steven Murphy as CEO

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. -- Plasmon (LSE:PLM), the trusted source in archiving solutions, today announced the appointment of Steven Murphy to the position of Chief Executive Officer effective today.

Mr. Murphy, a seasoned executive with more than twenty years of experience in the storage and systems management industry will be based in the U.S. to drive the roll-out of Plasmons Archive Appliance Solution that includes patented UDO2 based integrated archiving system. He will also serve on the Board of Directors.

Mr. Murphy brings a strategic vision for innovation and a proven track record in successfully repositioning companies for growth. As president and CEO of Softek, Mr. Murphy drove the growth and profitability of the company through strategic R&D and four product acquisitions. Mr. Murphy led the company’s change from a niche player to a market leader and led the management buyout of Softek from Fujitsu Ltd. to its recent merger with IBM. Prior to founding Softek, Mr. Murphy was president of Amdahl Software, Inc. as well as holding executive roles in the enterprise software and telecommunications industries, including Andersen Consulting.
