Open Text FirstClass 8.0

The latest version of Open Text's communication and messaging suite has added features in security, manageability, performance, scalability, collaboration and customization. IM support includes indication of who is online, as well as collaborative features such as postings and calendaring. The new directory service module integrates with metadirectories like LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory to allow access in either direction. Starts at $995. Teros FireLine

Touting 60-minute installation for its FireLine Web security gateway for small and midsize businesses, Teros promises full protection for all Web applications, including those with client-side JavaScript. Cendura Cohesion 3.0

Cendura has updated its application-management suite by adding Blueprints for Oracle 10g running on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform (see our Sneak Preview of 2.1). Features include deep application discovery and interpretation of executables, directories and database tables; configuration management that lets you add, delete or change any config parameter; and remote database troubleshooting from a Web browser.
