Packet Design has named Steve Ackley vice president of worldwide sales

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Packet Design, Inc., theleader in the field of route analytics technology formanaging large IP networks, has named Steve Ackley vicepresident of worldwide sales. He reports to Packet DesignCEO Jack Bradley.

Ackley comes to Packet Design from MonoSphere, a RedwoodCity, Calif., storage capacity planning software company,where he had been vice president of worldwide sales since2004. Previously he had been vice president of worldwidesales at Satmetrix Systems, a provider of on-demandsoftware and consulting services for improving customerloyalty. Ackley also has served as vice president ofworldwide sales at Vicinity Corp. (acquired by Microsoft)and regional vice president of sales at Marimba (acquiredby BMC), and has held sales management positions withTivoli Systems (IBM) and Sun Microsystems.

"Steve's proven track record in successfully sellingtechnically complex infrastructure software makes him agreat fit for Packet Design," Bradley said. "He has alsohad extensive experience working with startup companies,generating positive results with small but aggressivedirect sales teams.
