TORONTO -- Opalis Software, Inc., the IT process automation market leader with software that orchestrates, integrates, and automates IT operational processes, today, announced the appointment of George Kellar to the position of chief operating officer. Mr. Kellar will be responsible for managing daily operations across the company. He brings years of experience in producing significant business growth and expansion, improving marketing and sales operations, as well as increasing management effectiveness.

The IT Process Automation market is exploding and Opalis’ business is growing rapidly because of this phenomena. We felt the timing was right to add the strategic role of COO to orchestrate our end-to-end business execution,” said Todd DeLaughter, CEO and president of Opalis Software. “I have known George for years while he was with Novadigm and then HP, and feel fortunate to gain an accomplished executive of George’s caliber at this exciting time in Opalis’ history. His leadership and operational experience will strengthen our team immensely.”

A software industry veteran, Mr. Kellar has held executive positions at both public and private companies, including ASK Group/Ingres Corporation and Novadigm, a market leader in desktop and server configuration management that was acquired by HP in 2004.

“I have been impressed by the success Opalis customers have achieved through Opalis’ solutions-based approach to automating IT processes, and by the underlying technology which enables organizations of any size to reap significant business benefits,” said George Kellar, chief operating officer for Opalis. “I look forward to working with the entire leadership team, partners, and also customers to further expand Opalis’ success as a critical component to successful business operations and IT process management.”
