BELLEVUE, Wash. -- MessageGate, Inc., a leader in practical email governance, today unveiled version 4.3 of its email governance platform, delivering enhanced email governance controls for companies needing to better manage email into, out of, and across the enterprise. The version upgrade also eases IT department migration pressures by delivering key Microsoft Exchange 2007 features within Exchange 2003 environments.

MessageGate conducted extensive customer and market research to ensure its version 4.3 captures top email governance requirements while fulfilling compliance and security concerns. Among the new features found within the upgrade are the MessageGate Exchange Adapter for IIS and enhanced performance within the Message Analysis Server.

The MessageGate Adapter for IIS allows seamless integration with Microsoft Exchange environments, enabling the email governance platform to monitor and control internal message flow traveling between users within the same Exchange network. The adaptor can operate in both Perimeter and Exchange modes. Perimeter mode is typically deployed on the perimeter of the network, allowing the governance platform to monitor messages received by the IIS service. Exchange mode monitors messages sent by users on the Exchange server associated with the IIS server.

Enforcing controls on internal email flow has been a tremendous stumbling block for enterprises needing to manage all corporate messaging traffic,” said Brian Babineau, senior analyst with the Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG). “MessageGate’s version 4.3 is an important piece of a message governance platform because it allows companies to get tighter control of their entire email profile in a corporate environment that now is influenced by information privacy regulations, electronic discovery and constant collaboration with external constituents.”
